She had arrived a few hours ago. She had arrived when the sand was cool and the sun was just beginning to rise over the horizon. She was here early in the morning. Usually she came for the morning jogs, for the rush of adrenaline and the endorphine rushes that made her the overall happy person she always was. But that was hours ago.
Now the cool had subsided and the temperature slowly rose. Her things had long been discarded in her car. She loved her car. It had been a gift that first day she had arrived. She loved it. It was unlike anything else. The pinkish-purple body, purple neon underlights, and of course the paint job, she just loved it. No one would picture her as the type of person to drive a playboy bunny car but it was just so unique that she had to keep it.
Now that the day had begun she walked along the beach in her bikini. She had a sheer pink wrap around her waist that kept her from feeling completely exposed but it still revealed the adorable bikini. She loved the white, black, and pink checkered design. She didn't really know why she just did. Her black flip flops hung by her side as she twirled them in her hands. It was weird. Whenever she went to a new place she would always immediately go to the beach. Something about the waves, the sand, the ocean breezes, it always calmed her nerves.
She certainly was nervous. She was in a completely new place. She wasn't comfortable yet but only a few more hours of soaking up the sunlight and she'd be fine.

Driving forward, Adam bit down on his lip was a nearby driver shot him the middle finger. Some people got pissed off for no reason sometimes! Besides it had been that driver who had cut in front of him and he had barely been able to miss him. Still he tried not to let this damper his mood. He was normally a very cheery and optimistic person. Everything else was going great. With Cammie, with his friends, with his family. He smiled when he remembered that he was going to the beach. For once it wasn't with friends or family, it was all by himself. It was strange to think that college had started for him. He was a freshman in college. Adam had anticipated this day for years, but had never really expected it to come. It was like when something was so far off in your future, that you never expected it to happen. He took a sharp turn at the exit, driving cautiously now. He didn't want to have missed an accident before, only to get into one now. He pushed the button to his car radio on. He had his ipod hooked up and Famous Last Words by My Chemical Romance came on. Adam had borrowed the new CD from a friend and had uploaded it on his computer.
It was simply amazing in his opinion. So far, Famous Last Words was his favorite song. Welcome to the Black Parade was really popular and he liked that one as well, although not as much. Finnally Adam arrived at the beach, parking pretty neatly in it's parking lot. He sat there for a few moments, the song playing softly in the background, as he stared out at the beautiful view. The beach was great to him. He was able to think easily on it and it was gorgeous. He loved going with friends, but sometimes it was nice to just spend some alone time there. Adam had a feeling though, that once school really started he wouldn't have as much time for his friends, and Cammie. Right there and then, he wished that he had invited her, but then pushed that thought aside. Maybe Cammie was his girlfriend, but she had friends too, and was probably off with them. With that last thought, he grabbed his swimming bag. It had a change of clothes, sun screen, two towels, goggles, and some other stuff that he would need in it.
Slamming and locking the door behind him, Adam paraded forward. The sight from his car had been beautiful, but now walking on the beach, it was breath taking. He took off his flip flops, leaving his feet to walk on the soft sand. It felt wonderful, smushing under his feet. He winced slightly as his right foot hit a rock, but soon that was replaced by the softness of the sand once again. Adam took out a towel and set it down. He was wearing his black swimming trunks and a blac t-shirt, but he didn't feel like swimming right away. Personally he didn't even believe that swimming at the beach was the most fun of the things that you could do there. He took out one of his towel and set it out. Adam had had the towel since he was about fourteen. It had a picture of dolphins, whales, and some other sea animals swimming around. It had originally caught his eye because it had been so colorful. That was when he spotted a girl. She didn't really look lonely, but sometimes it was nice to go up and talk to people, and see how they were doing.
Even a simple hello or a greeting seemed to mean a lot to some people. On the other hand, maybe she was in a pissed off mood and wouldn't even want him to say that, but oh well. If Adam always let things like that stand in his way, he would just end of being afraid of accomplishing things. Leaving his towel and bag alone, he walked forward until he was by her side. He was silent for a few moments, searching for something to say. He didn't want to seem like some creepy guy who had randomly approached her, it was just that sometimes he preferred silence. Finnally Adam smiled in her direction, sort of nodding in greeting. Okay, so that was a start, but where were the words? "Hi," He said, after waiting a very long time. It wasn't like he meant to be silent, it had just happened. He didn't really reconize her, but maybe she went to the high school or something. She definetly didn't look any younger then that. Adam wasn't sure if she looked old enough to be in college, although it was possible. He smiled again at her, running a hand through his brown hair.

The rush of just being at the beach had swept her away. There she was just walking, the only proof of her presence was the defined path of footprints that seemed to stretch for miles down the beach. If she had traced those footsteps back you could've founf where she initially began, those footsteps were rough, the sand splayed here and there, that was where she began her morning run. Continuing to watch the footsteps you'd find that eventually the slosh of sand over where she had run grew smaller and small where she slowed to a walk. She was then just enjoying herself.
She watched the sandpipers dip and dodge to escape waves as they searched for their morning meal. She smiled and watched to little birds move here and there. Before she knew it there was someone beside her. It had caught her off guard but just by the look at him she could tell he meant no harm. He smiled, she returned it, he spoke and she smiled once again and returned with a chipper Hello.
Her flip flops hit her side as she walked, she was more comfortable now. She wasn't in her jogging mode, now she was just in her comfort zone. She slowed a bit ad turned to the stanger, she extended a delicate, manicured hand to him and smiled warmly. I'm Claire, nice you meet you, um... She glanced at him as she waited for a name. He seemed very nice, not one of those burly 'I'll kill you if I look at you' type of guys. it was nice to have met someone that didn't scare the bejesus out of her the first day she'd arrived. Eyes wandered out towards the ocean, taking in it's beauty. There was something so magnificent about the water. With it's rippling and powerful waves, it's glistening water, and just it as a whole. Adam loved to surf on the water, it was something he did often. Unfortunately he hadn't thought to bring his surf board with him, since it had broke last time. He had been planning to get a new one, but didn't want to bother his parents for money. That was something that set him apart from many of the people at his old high school, he wasn't spoiled. Adam was rich true, but he didn't think that if he just wanted something, that he would get it. His parents weren't movie stars or something like that either, they were just normal lawyers. They were respected and had made quite a bit of money, but both hadn't been rich during their childhood. His mother had been very poor, barely able to pay the bills sometimes. His father had been about middle class, having to worry about bills, but they did just alright.
Sometimes thinking about how spoilt some of his peers were disgusted him. They were very rich, complaining about they hadn't gotten the latest trendy thing, that cost a ridiculous amount, when there were people starving all over the world. Adam had been regularly volunteering as much as he could, since he had been about ten. Also he tried to donate a lot of money each year, although his parents were giving him a set limit of money, so he was trying to use that wisely. He wanted to be something in the world, but not something that didn't help the world, and only made it worse. Which was probably why it was so ironic that he was dating Cammie, but he still loved her. There was just something so special about her, although it seemed like she stood for most things that he couldn't stand. Maybe that made him a hypocrit, he didn't know, but he could deny his feelings. Just thinking about Cammie made Adam smile, he missed her. He would have to see her soon and spend some time with her.
He was almost suprised when Claire responded to what he said, saying hello right back at him. And then she went right on to introduce herself. She seemed nice, even though he didn't really know her. Adam thought that you could tell what people were like sometimes right away. Of course there were times that you might be wrong, but still... most of the time you could. Unfortunately there were times, when they turned out to be people you didn't want to know, or you realized that the way they were around you, was all just an act. Adam had yet to meet people like this, but he heard about them, and knew that they existed. Still it wasn't like Claire was about to take a chainsaw out at him anytime soon, or at least he hoped so. Nice to meet you Claire, I'm Adam. So... do you live around her?" Adam said, introducing himself and asking her a curious question. He couldn't help wanting to know, it was just logical in his case. He was leaning more towards her being in high school right now, but you never knew. It was hard to judge people on how old they looked or their height, because there was a possibility always that you could be wrong.
